Fluoride Application

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral found in water and soil, as well as certain foods and drinks. Fluoride is known to be a practical and risk-free way to fight and avoid tooth decay. When this mineral interacts with teeth, it protects the teeth in two ways:

    1. Counters demineralization – fluoride toughens the entire tooth surface which increases its immunity to acid attacks from bacilli in plaque. Acid that these bacilli produce wears away tooth enamel, crippling and damaging your tooth.
    2. Promotes remineralization – fluoride gathers in areas that have a mineral shortage and reinforces the enamel by providing minerals such as calcium. In this manner, it halts tooth decay in its early stages, before cavities form.

We ensure you get improved fluoride protection by providing topical fluorides in suitable amounts. Mouth rinses and toothpastes are examples of personal dental hygiene products that contain fluoride. These products may be brought home to be used on a daily basis.

Besides that, we provide topical fluorides that are professionally administered which include gels, foams, and varnishes. These may be administered by our dental professionals. These products restore the fluoride level in the enamel to its optimum and are particularly useful for anyone prone to dental caries.
